The Bank of Industry has disclosed that 1.99 million petty traders in Nigeria have benefited from the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP). The disclosure was made in Abuja this week by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the programme,Uzoma Nwagba.
Under the non-interest loans scheme, traders receive between N10,000 to N300,000 to assist them in petty business. However, so far the agency has disbursed N19.9 billion to the micro-business segment.
GEEP is one of the components of the Social Investment Programme which lies under the purview of the Bank of Industry. The tags used as labels for GEEP are Marketmoni and Tradermoni.
To apply for the non-interest loan, follow these procedures:
a. Visit the BOI website or any of the bank branches located in the geopolitical zone nearest to you.
b. Collect the Bank’s forms.
c. Complete the BOI Questionnaire.
d. Submit the forms.
e. Download copy(ies) of the completed forms
